Meet Ashley Matteson, professional home organizer in Dallas

You deserve a space that supports you, steadies you, and lets you feel at peace in your own life.

Ashley Matteson, founder of Messy Buns Organized Spaces, in a client's organized closet

I understand the mental weight of a disorganized space. I understand the overwhelm of a move. And I know exactly what it feels like when a home finally works, when everything has a place, the chaos is gone, and you can actually breathe the moment you walk in.

Hey friends! I’m Ashley Matteson, and I founded Messy Buns Organized Spaces because I understand intimately what it means to need your home to truly function for the demands of real life.

As a busy mom of three balancing a demanding corporate career, I discovered early on that I had a natural gift for creating order from chaos. I could walk into any space, no matter how overwhelming, and immediately see its potential. Eventually the choice became clear. I walked away from the corporate world and committed myself fully to the work and the clients that had always felt like my true calling.

Today Messy Buns Organized Spaces serves homeowners throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, bringing professional home organizing, move concierge, unpacking, home setup, and recurring refresh services to some of the most beautiful homes in Texas. I work with a team, which means we can take on a full home unpack in days rather than weeks, and it means there’s always more than one set of hands on the projects that need them.

What we believe about home organizing

Our clients don’t see organization as a luxury. They see it as a non-negotiable foundation of the life they’ve worked hard to build.

At Messy Buns Organized Spaces we honor that standard completely. We call it our by-any-means approach: a relentless commitment to doing whatever it takes to make your home everything it deserves to be.

In practice that means the room is finished before we leave, not when the hours run out, and that you understand the system well enough to keep it running. If a project needs another day, or a product we didn’t anticipate, you hear it from us before it becomes your problem.

How we work, and what never changes

  • We treat every client like family

You’re letting us into the most private corners of your home. That access is earned, and we behave accordingly: discreet, careful with your things, and honest when something isn’t worth spending money on.

  • We approach every space with fresh eyes

No template gets pulled off a shelf. We look at how you actually move through the room before deciding anything, which is why we ask you not to tidy up before we arrive.

  • Solutions are organic to your lifestyle

Never templated, never rushed, never one-size-fits-all. If it doesn’t fit how you actually live, it’s not a solution — it’s just a nicer mess.

Our home organizing services

  • Organizing & Decluttering: Room-by-room systems that sort what stays, rehome what doesn’t, and give everything a place you’ll actually keep using.
  • Move Concierge: End-to-end move management, from packing your old house with intention to a fully functional new one before the first night.
  • Unpacking & Home Setup: Boxes gone, systems in, house functional, usually in a fraction of the time it would take you on nights and weekends.
  • Home Refresh: A maintenance visit that resets the systems you already have, before the drift turns back into a project.

What a professional home organizer costs

Our rates start at $160 per hour, and we publish that number rather than making you ask for it. Full detail is on the pricing page, including what organizing products typically run and how deposits work.

Ready to transform your home?

Whether you're moving, settling in, or finally ready to get organized, we'll handle the journey for you. The discovery call is free and there's no pressure attached to it.

Common concerns about hiring a professional organizer

“I'm embarrassed for anyone to see it.”

This is the most common thing we hear, and the least necessary. We have organized garages that hadn't seen the floor in years and closets packed to the rod.

We aren't there to have an opinion about how the house got this way. We're there to get you to the other side of it. Please don't clean before we arrive. Seeing how you actually live is the only way we can build something that holds.

“It will just fall apart again in a month.”

It falls apart when the system was built for a photo instead of for your family. We zone around how you move through the space, label clearly enough that your partner and your kids can follow it without asking, and walk you through the logic before we leave. When life changes (new baby, new job, kids in new sizes), a Home Refresh resets it instead of starting over.

“I don't know what I'm allowed to get rid of.”

You're allowed to keep anything you want. That's the actual rule, not a loophole. Our job is to ask better questions than “do you love it,” and nothing leaves the house unless you say so.

“Shouldn't I be able to do this myself?”

You probably could, on a free weekend you don't have. Most of our clients are capable people who have already tried twice. The bottleneck is rarely willpower. It's time, decision fatigue, and not knowing what to buy until the sorting is done.

Ashley assessed the spaces and jumped right in. Very positive, non-judgmental, and helped mentally as well as physically get through an onslaught of accumulated paper and stuff.

After moving to Dallas from Houston, Messy Buns came in and unpacked my 4,200 square foot home in 5 days. I was able to move my family into a completely unpacked home with no stress or worry. They completely exceeded my expectations and I look forward to having them back for any future projects!

Ashley did an INCREDIBLE job. 2.5 years worth of mess in the garage - gone. If you're on the fence, this is your push to go for it. I'll let the before and after pics speak for themselves.
